A Bachelor of Science in Education was earned from Eastern Illinois University, followed by a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Arlington.
The journey in education began in the classroom, teaching for eight years, and later expanded into roles as a campus math specialist, student culture and instructional coach, and dean of instruction before stepping into the role of assistant principal.
Outside of school, free time is spent working out, enjoying time with family, dining out, relaxing with a dog, and binge-watching TV shows—usually while live-texting friends. A love of football is also a must, especially when cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs!
The IB PYP program is valued for helping students see how their learning connects to the world around them. It also empowers students to take ownership of their learning and express what they know in meaningful and creative ways.
