Dr. Audrey Gormley

Title I Specialist

What College(s) Did You Attend? I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Cabrini College and my Master’s Degree in Reading, along with my Reading Specialist Certification, from Arcadia University. Most recently, I completed my Doctorate in Cognitive Studies in Reading with an Instructional Coaching Endorsement from Widener University.

Education History: This is my 21st year in education. I spent 12 years as a classroom teacher, teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, before transitioning to a reading specialist position. I am honored to now work as an instructional coach, supporting and empowering our incredible teachers to help every student thrive.

Interests/Hobbies Outside of School: I am from Philadelphia and am a proud Philly sports fan—Go Eagles! In addition to watching sports, I enjoy reading, cooking, and staying active at the gym. My husband and I have loved exploring the DFW area and appreciate the wide variety of places to dine out.

Why is the IB PYP program important to you? As an instructional coach, I value how the PYP encourages teachers to facilitate student-centered learning, promote critical thinking, and integrate global perspectives. Supporting educators in implementing the PYP allows me to help them refine their practice, foster meaningful student engagement, and create classrooms where students take ownership of their learning.
